About
Where this came from
A question about batteries led to a working vehicle.
The origin
The project started with a simple question: if a small vehicle can be powered by solar panels, why does it need a battery at all?
Most solar vehicle projects use the sun to top off a battery. The battery does the actual work. Carro Del Sol tries the other approach — the sun powers the motor directly, and a supercapacitor covers the gaps.
It turned out to work. This site documents the idea and what's been learned from building and testing a prototype.
What guides us
Keep it simple
The battery was removed not as a statement, but because it turned out not to be necessary for the use case being tested.
Document honestly
This is a working prototype with real limitations. The goal is to share what works and what doesn't, not to oversell the idea.
Open to discussion
If you have questions, disagreements, or related ideas, that's worth a conversation.
